The Congressional America250 Caucus provides a forum for lawmakers to share their interest in America’s 250th anniversary and promote awareness on Capitol Hill.
The Caucus serves as a valuable resource for lawmakers and Congressional staff as planning for America250 continues to evolve. It works closely with the U.S. Semiquincentennial Commission to ensure the perspectives of all Americans are represented.
It does so by:
- Assisting in the planning of congressional activities surrounding the America250 commemoration
- Acting as a communications vehicle to enable the elected members of the Commission to keep colleagues in Congress — as well as partners and public officials in their respective districts and states — informed about the activities of the Commission
- Encouraging input from Members of Congress regarding activities and programs that should be considered for America’s 250th anniversary observance
- Furthering the relationship of the Commission to the entire Congress
